Hide and seek.

Hide and seek

1, 2, 3, the seeker counts and I run inside, 8, 9, 10 ready or not here I come. I run down the hallway, open the hall door and jump down my laundry shoot. The space is tight but big enough for me to have jumped down. I try to sit down, or half sit down really as my back brushes against the wall. Shirts and jerseys are wrapped around my legs like a huge spider wrapping up an insect. I smell the gross smell of my brothers cloths, circling my nose like my worst nightmare. A big pile of dirty cloths gets dropped down ontop of me from Mum. I crawl down and poke my head down and out the bottom to see if anyone is coming. I see my friends in the distance, with their heads up high looking for me. I see them walk inside. They peeked into the shoot, but I duck down into the piles of clothes just in time. My secret will remain a secret till the end as long as I can keep quiet like a mouse. I listen and listen and then I hear the surrender call. “You’ve won, come on out!”. I crawled down out of the shoot and showed myself to the world once again. My eyes burnt from the light for a bit but it was worth it.
